Ladakh is situated in the northern part of Indian subcontinent, Ladakh shares its border region with Tibet on it is east, the Lahaul Spiti to the south Kashmir, Jammu, and Baltistan to its west and the Xinjiang across the Karakoram in the Far North and it extends its region to Siachen Glacier in the Karakoram range to the Great Himalayas to the South.
Leh is the largest town and a district located in the Union Territory of Ladakh, Lek is is situated at an altitude of 3524 meters (11562 ft), Leh is connected with Srinagar via national highway 1 in the southwest and Manali town is situated in the southern region connected via Leh Manali Highway.
Shanti stupa is a white dome located in Chanspa region of Leh District Ladakh, it is situated at a height of 3609 meters (11841 ft) and it is at a distance of 5 km from Leh.
HALL OF FAME
Hall of fame museum constructed by the Indian Army in memory of the brave soldiers who were martyred during India Pakistan wars, it is situated on a distance of 4 km on the Leh-Kargil highway.
Zanskar is locally known as Zahar is a mountain range in the eastern region of Ladakh, the average height of the mountain range is 6000m (19700 ft).
CHANG LA PASS
Chang La is a high mountain pass situated at an altitude of 5360m /17590 ft in Ladakh region of India, it is located at the distance of 74 km from the town of Leh on the route to Pangong Lake and it is claimed to be the highest motor-able road in the world.
Pangong Tso, also known as Pangong Lake, is an endorheic lake in the Himalayas, situated at an altitude of about 4350 m / 14270 ft. It is 134 km long and extends from India to the Tibetian region in china, apporx 40% of the Lakes lies in the Indian region of the Himalayas. It is also a part of the disputed territory between India and China.
